There are two ways to add a teacher to a class.
Go to user's profile page and press "New user role" (1) - then select role from drop-down menu (2)
In the same manner, a user can also be given roles as school administrator or teacher
Alternatively, one can add the teacher to the class structure. The result is the same, but the method used is slightly different.
Select "Settings" (1), select your school (2), select "Classes, students and teachers" (3), select step (4), select class (5) and add teacher by pressing "+" ( 6)
Select a class and click Add New Teacher
Enter the email address or mobile number of the teacher and click Next
Select the right teacher in case that email already existed in the system, and click Next. If not, then you click on None of these? Create new user.
Select Teacher's Access Level:
- Contact teacher: Receives absence messages and messages sent to contact teacher. When guardians send messages to the class's contact teacher, all employees with the role of "contact teacher" on the relevant class will receive the message.
- Subject teacher: Does not receive messages sent to contact teacher, but can send messages to students and guardians, and guardians can respond to such messages.
- School Assistant: Does not receive messages sent to contact teacher, but can send messages to students and guardians of class students, and guardians can respond to such messages.
- Subject teacher and school assistant have the same approach when given role in a class. The only reason why two different roles have been created is that the school administration would like to send a message to all the school's school assistants or to all subject teachers.
In schools where groups are imported from the school administration system, it is not necessary to create subject teachers to the classes. Subject teachers should then be associated with the subject groups. See article about configuring message boxes.
