Notification messages are delivered as push notifications to those who have downloaded the app.
It requires that you have turned on notifications in your phone and allowed the app to show notifications.
You can test if your phone allows messages by sending a test message to yourself. See below for how to send such a message.
After you press "Test Message Notification" you will receive a push notification on your phone.
If you do not receive any notification, you can try to re-register the app.
To do so, open "Advanced - Show notifications sent to my device" like this:
You can reset push notification in the system as shown in the image below:
You must now quit the app and restart it. Then the app will be registered to receive notifications from the server.
Then send a test message to yourself as shown at the top.
If this is done and you are still not receiving notifications, we recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the app.
Then send a test message to yourself as shown at the top.
If you still do not receive email notifications, please contact our support and further assistance in resolving the issue. In the meantime, you can set up to receive a copy of the email message.
This is done under SETTINGS - NOTIFICATION SETTINGS. SELECT SO "Send app notification and email copy"
You can also check if the message notifications are received by your mobile device but not shown on your mobile device. Here's how:
Android phones
The phone has a notification log that you can open. There you will see all push notifications your phone has received.
To open the log, you need to add a shortcut to the Notification Log.
Press and hold a free field on the screen for a long time. Then select "Widgets"
Press and hold "Shortcut Settings" / "Settings shortcut" and place it on the screen.
You will then see a list of shortcuts where you select "Notification log" / "Notifications log"
The icon will then be visible on the screen. Pressing it will give you an overview of all notifications received by your phone.
If you do not have any notifications about received messages here, please contact our support so we can check further what is the problem with your phone.
For iPhone, you will find history of received notifications by dragging the tray from the top of the screen
If you can't find notifications for messages you've received in this list, open Settings -> Notifications and check that the SchoolLink app has turned on "View in History"
If View in History is turned on and you cannot find the notifications in the log, please contact our support so we can check what is the problem with your phone.
